The project
The logistics center consists of two sections: an office wing with two upper floors and a single-story warehouse. The loading area for the high-bay warehouse is located beneath the office wing and to the side of the warehouse. The basement houses a large parking garage. The project was planned and completed in a very short time.
The construction method
The high-bay warehouse was constructed using timber framing starting from the ground floor. Glulam beams span the nearly 28-meter-wide structure. The structure is braced using steel tie rods. Thanks to the timber construction, the building was erected in a very short time. The office wing stands on a concrete base. The floor slab, flat roof, and walls were constructed using prefabricated wood elements.
The challenge
The building is located directly next to the tracks and within the vicinity of a high-voltage power line. In areas where the building does not maintain the required distance from the high-voltage power line, the timber-frame structures had to meet stringent fire safety requirements (REI90-RF1).
