Industrial hall in timber construction erected for TSUGAMI NP Swiss

With its new hall, TSUGAMI NP Swiss in Delémont has opted for a pioneering timber construction method that is not only more sustainable, but also aesthetically pleasing. Timbatec timber construction engineers were responsible for the building's statics, load-bearing structure, fire protection and building physics.
The focus was on the advantages of environmentally friendly timber construction
In a pioneering project, the company TSUGAMI NP Swiss in Delémont has realized a building that is not only functional but also aesthetically impressive. Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG was responsible for the structural analysis in timber construction, the load-bearing structure, fire protection and building physics. The decision to construct the new hall in wood shows the progressive and innovative approach of the company, which deliberately decided against a standardized hall solution made of «sandwich panels» (mostly petroleum-based plastics with very limited recycling possibilities) and instead opted for the numerous advantages of environmentally friendly timber construction.
One hall for many functions and processes
The new hall covers an area of 46 x 23 meters and includes several functions under one roof: a showroom, an administration area with modern offices and a storage and machine preparation area. This well thought-out room layout enables TSUGAMI to map all business processes efficiently and on one level. The timber construction of the building not only ensures a particularly high load-bearing capacity and durability, but also a remarkable aesthetic, which also has a positive effect on the indoor climate. The timber facade blends harmoniously into the surroundings and underlines the company's progressive and sustainable concept.
The building has a covered, recessed entrance, which characterizes the functionality and design of the building in equal measure. The spacious entrance area offers visitors and customers a view of the showroom as soon as they enter the building, creating an inviting atmosphere. Inside the building, central boxes provide a clear structure for the conference and coffee break room.
The building was equipped with generous ceiling openings that provide natural lighting and flood the showroom and other work areas with light. Particular emphasis was also placed on the bracing of the building and impact protection, with a conscious decision not to use traditional protective supports and barriers - a decision that is in line with the aesthetic vision of the project and at the same time optimally supports the functionality of the structure.
